- WAY OF GETTING AND THE JOB WARRANTY
Getting the job is due to the employer/ program organizer and they are the only ones who decide where the student will be employed. Therefore, the agency cannot guarantee that one will get the job they wished for since their role is strictly being one of a mediator.
Some agencies insist on and guarantee to get certain location or job, so that the student applies to the program. After the application they offer a student different locations and jobs which are not the same they previously guaranteed. They do that because of the payment of the canceling expenses in case of quitting or inability to go to the other agency. In that situation a student is obliged to accept any job.
- SWT IS A PROGRAM OF CULTURAL EXCHANGE, AND NOT WORKING PROGRAM
The aim of the program is gaining rich experience, improving the English language, meeting the culture, customs and lifestyle, as well as gaining new friends.
It is very important that students participate in cultural activities and socializing that the employer /organizing company organizes. The program is supported and it is under constant monitoring of the American Government.
- JOB TYPES AND LOCATIONS THAT BRING MONEY, EXPERIENCE AND IMPROVEMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE
Program is primarily created for working in restaurants, supermarkets, hotels and smaller catering objects (pastry shops, shops, boutiques, bakeries etc.)
The best locations for Summer Work and Travel program are smaller seasonal tourist places, locations that are tourist destinations during a whole year and cities which have the need for additional manpower because of deficit of local one.
- EARNINGS DURING PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM
The amount of money which the student will earn and return home depends exclusively on the students themselves and their abilities! Individual earnings vary and it is influenced by the personal expenses, a way of saving, effort and devotion during work, additional job and much more.The most important is that working only on one job; the student can return the invested money!
- ADDITIONAL JOB AND OVERTIME WORK
The additional job is the key part of the program if a student wants to earn more. For that reason, it is very important to go to the locations which enable additional jobs and be well prepared for them!!!
Overtime work exists in some locations and at some employers, but almost none of the employers since the crisis in 2009, does not pay the overtime work 1.5 times more ( as it was the situation before the crisis), but as the regular hours! NO ONE can promise to the student how much working hours they will have during the program, since that depends on various factors, such as the duration of the tourist season, number of guests, behavior during work and personal devotion of every individual
